About

The GDS Approach

Grid Development Solutions is a focused, development-led platform established to identify and advance complex energy and industrial infrastructure opportunities. Development is approached through the alignment of infrastructure position, site control, commercial structure, capital, permitting and approvals, counterparties, and execution strategy. Opportunities are evaluated where disciplined development can support reliable and competitive infrastructure outcomes while making productive and responsible use of energy resources and existing assets. Surrounding land uses and communities, regional resource needs, and infrastructure requirements are considered as part of a balanced approach intended to create durable stakeholder value.

Leadership & Senior Advisor Network

Founded by Michael Chestone in 2016, Grid Development Solutions provides development, structuring, and execution support for complex energy projects, industrial sites, and large-scale development opportunities. Michael brings more than two decades of experience across power generation, interconnection, project development, commercial strategy, and transaction execution. His work spans renewable energy, storage, thermal generation, complex hybridized systems, industrial load, and large-scale infrastructure platforms.

Direct senior leadership is supported by an established network of senior advisors and specialty resources across the technical, regulatory, commercial, financial, and development disciplines required to advance complex projects. The network includes power generation and development engineers, regulatory and utility-market professionals, data architecture and analytical systems specialists, and project finance and infrastructure capital markets professionals. Additional specialty advisors are engaged where project-specific needs require focused expertise in a particular discipline.

Engagement Model

Each engagement begins by defining the mandate, clarifying key decision points, and identifying the workstreams required to move an opportunity forward. The work is then sequenced, the appropriate resources are coordinated, and the engagement remains focused on decisions that affect feasibility, risk, capital, permitting and approvals, commercialization, and execution. This model helps clients and partners test assumptions, prioritize next steps, and advance executable development pathways across complex energy and infrastructure projects.
